When data packages are uploaded to the EDI Data Repository, they are first analyzed by a suite of quality checks that are used to report on certain aspects of metadata conformance to best practices as well as on the congruence between the metadata and the data. In early May, EDI added four new quality checks to its suite, bringing the total to thirty-six in all. A team comprised of EDI personnel and other data managers, called the EML Checker Working Group, oversees the design, implementation, and deployment of new and existing quality checks.
